While i served with 103 mu, i was billited in one of the "newer" 2 story blocks, just beyond the "ancient ruins" (some mosaic coloured chips i still have somewhere) and i, along with 4 other bods formed a sort of "off the wall" group, our little emblem was a hand in the 2 fingered sign with 2 little feet at the wrist joint,We were hard drinkers then, unfortunately for me as it turned out later, and i'm delighted to here that 103 has a reunion group for those that served. Images and the like flood back if i think hard about those times, but damned if i can remember names, i do remember playing for the cricket team once( badly), and a bod who played the guitar very well, and did so sometimes in a bar in Limasol we used to go to,Played all the then Beatle songs very well.I thought i'd just pop this little nonsense in as the last couple of posts brought back memories.

My parents lived at 2 Queen St. on the married patch. Before that they lived at Berengaria where I went to Secondary school before joining up in Jan 64.

Any others out there served at 103MU in its various disguises?
Unit with a long history going back to the First World War in the
Middle East. There is an active Reunion Group and Newsletters,
our oldest regular attendee joined the RAF in 1936 as an
armourer. He was featured in the Coventry local papers recently
as the oldest badminton player in Warwickshire at 88. Last year
he took a local Rugby team on a tour to Hong Kong as trainer!

At RAF Akrotiri members of 103MU became known as "Noddies"
and adopted the emblem with pride. It came in various forms
depending on Flight.

I was posted out to 103 MU during the troubles of early January 964. I was a Clerk Statistics working in the MT Storage Unit. Although just married I went unaccompanied for 6 months. My wife Beryl was to travel shortly after me but was on her way to Brize when the trouble really broke out between the Greeks and The Turks so she was cancelled for 6 months. Of course during that 6 months me and my mate Dave Pike(RIP) who was in the same boat spent many a happy hour down Heroes Square on the booze. When the girls arrived we went down the square and the old bar owner popped her head out of her bar and shouted "Hey Johnny why you no come to see me now wifey is here" Big embarassment!! Excuse: "She's got the wrong one dear." and many others. Anyway things calmed and we had an excellent time living in Limassol. You can see lots of photos on Forces Reunited. But I have attached  some to this post.

I was at El Adem at the time Keith and a lot of our TASS guys were sent to 103MU for a permanent posting, some of the regulars on the forum here were there the same time as you also.
